Need help in finding the father of Reuben Sweet born Abt. 1805 Georgetown N.Y. married Mary Ann Shepard born Abt. 1802 Hartford Conn. I think the same Reuben is in the 1840 Census of N.Y. County of Madison, Twnship of Hamilton. His children are my gg grandfather Andrew, Charles, Harriet, and Emeline. Andrew and Charles emigrated to Floyd County Iowa and are buried there. I cannot trace Reuben after 1840 and think he may have died before 1850. Family tradition says Eber Sweet born 1767 in Mass. died June 1 1850 in Erieville N.Y. Married Lucy Dryer born Oct 31 1770 Rehoboth Mass. died March 13, 1833 are his parents. I cannot document this and would appreciate anyone helping.
