I noticed in one of the gedcoms for Harvey Sweet that he may have been born in Marshall, Indiana. There is a marriage record in Marshall that indicates that Francis M. Sweet married Sarah D. Mullenhower there on Jan 27, 1878 (Bk D, Pg 450). Earlier census records seem to indicate that Francis may have been the son of Jacob Sweet and his wife Elizabeth LNU, and that Sarah D. (she was listed with the middle initial D. in both the 1860 and 1870 census records) was the daughter of Henry Mullenhour and Elizabeth Flowers, married in Kosciusko, IN on Sep 17, 1856. If this information is correct and links to the family, that could be a big help for your friend's family.

As it happens, the Eber listed on the DNA web site *does* match the DNA of John Sweet's descendants. The only problem is that Eber's ancestry is not known. In any case, I don't think it's the same Eber because of the age difference, among other things. > John - I have information regarding a line for an Eber Sweet born 1774 in > Bedford, MA which indicates his father was Silas Sweet born 1745 in > Acushnet. Are you sure that's BEDFORD, as opposed to NEW BEDFORD? The latter is in the same neighborhood as Acushnet. In fact, at the times in question, neither Acushnet nor New Bedford existed, except as a twinkle in the eye of the town of DARTMOUTH. John Chandler
John - I have information regarding a line for an Eber Sweet born 1774 in Bedford, MA which indicates his father was Silas Sweet born 1745 in Acushnet. Silas is thought to be an illegitimate son of Elizabeth Sweet, daughter of Jeremiah Sweet and Ruth Albro. I do not have all the documentation but obtained this info from Louise Sweet, a certified genealogist in her 80s who relies on primary sources for her records (no computer). If this is the same Eber as listed on your website, it could explain why he shows up as a different DNA group. My great grandmother was Sarah Ann Sweet b. 1842, and I believe her parents to be John and Polly Sweet from NY. I have very little else on her except possible siblings of Prudence, Mary and Frederick. Sarah married my great grandfather, George Alexander (Alex) LOGUE and died in PA in 1882.
