Would like to have birth & place of birth for John & Lucy's Children: John SWEET (John, John, John, John, John, John "Isaac", Robert, John, Adrain, John) was born on 13 Jan 1762 in Exeter, Washington, Rhode Island. John married Lucy HAMMOND daughter of John Gardiner HAMMOND and Sarah. Source: John Sweet married Lucy Hammond, daughter of John Hammond. The marriage is not on record, but it can be deduced from Lucy's will of 1810 (proved 1811 at Exeter, RI). See RIGR v10 p216 for an abstract. Lucy Hammond Sweet who made a will as a widow dated 26 Dec 1810 and proved in Exeter 6 May 1811. (Ex 8:37?) It mentioned her children: It also mentioned her father-in-law, John Sweet, and her own deceased father, John Hammond. ( His will was Ex 5:138--and in it he mentioned his wife, Sarah.) There was also confirmation in "Some North Kingston, South Kingstown, Exeter and Richmond, RI Marriages from the Probate Records 1692 to 1850" compiled by Alden G. Beaman, copyright 1975, that Lucy Sweet, daughter of John (of John) Sweet, did indeed marry a Dawley. John and Lucy had the following children: F i. Lucy SWEET was born in 1789. She died after 1870. M ii. Daniel SWEET. M iii. Gardner SWEET. F iv. Betsey SWEET. F v. Nancy SWEET. F vi. Sarah SWEET

census records from Alexander County, NC, beginning in 1860, show a widow, Sarah SWEET born about 1808 in North Carolina. I cannot find her on the 1850, using ancestry's every name idex for the 1850 census. I searched under Sarah, Sara, Sallie, Sally. I searched for ALL SWEET in all states who were born in NC and still couldn't find her. I am trying to find her so I can see the name of her husband. She was widowed by 1860, maybe even by 1850 since I didn't find a child born after 1848. The children I did find were John born 1831, George Washington born 1835, Catherine C born 1837, Benjamin Franklin born 1842, William born 1848, Leander born 1848. These birth years are approximate, based on the ages in census records. I need to find the name of the husband of this Sarah/Sallie. Be careful who you choose to hate, it may be someone you love
