    2. My Great Great Grandfather was William Sweet, born in North Gwillimbury, now known as Snake Island, in Ontario, Canada. His son was Alexander Sweet, born Oct 31, 1865 in North Gwillimbury, Ont Canada. Alexander's daughter, Elizageth Ellen Baker, nee Sweet born May 12, 1888 and passed away 1975, I don't know if they are related to you or not but thought you may want to know a little about the Sweets. I found the Sweet Family on LDS.ORG. census for 1881 and Alexander Sweet in 1901 census. Alexander Sweet had 3 children and I do have their birth dates Bonnie, Kingston, Ont, Canada

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HBRBAIB/1321.2 Message Board Post: Your best route is to start with what you know. If you know when & where that Janice Margaret Sweet was born, you should obtain a copy of her birth certificate. If Janice has siblings, try to get copies of their birth certificates also. *Probably* Thomas & Irene (Meyers) Sweet were married a year or so before the birth of their oldest child. If you know WHERE that child was born, there is a good chance that the parents were married in the same location (or a nearby county). Contact that county to find a marriage license for Thomas & Irene. It will *probably* include their ages, birthplaces & hopefully the names of their parents & possibly where the parents were born. Armed with this information, you may be able to find the parents of Thomas (with him as a child) on a census record. This may give you the names of siblings of Thomas which can help lead to more info. about him, etc. etc. Always work backwards from WHAT YOU KNOW. Good luck in your search.
