The front cover is missing, but the genealogy is intact, although tatteed. The bible contains the chain of ownership to 1919, as well as a record of the children of Abiah Sweet and her husband Resolved Gardner. The first entry says "Elnathan Sweet gave this bible to his daughter Abiah Gardner 2nd(?)mo 1796 which she gives to her daughter Ann Gardner 5 mo 1826". The chain of ownership lists decendants through the line of Ann. I would like to reunite this bible to a family member, preferably someone who is a direct decendant of Elnathan and Abiah. Please contact me if you are interested, or if you know of someone who is interested. My mother was a Gardner, but not of this lineage. Which was the reason I acquired it in the first place. I can also make xerox copies of the genealogy for those who would like one. Carl Moses ==== SWEET Mailing List ==== Visit Daisy's Sweet Home Page! http://www.rootsweb.com/~daisy/sweet.htm

From what I have been able to find on the roots web sites, little is known about Abiah Sweet, daughter of Elnathan Sweet and Abiah Jenkins.. She married Resolved Gardner, and the bible lists her children. This bible genealogy will fill a lot of holes in the Sweet line. I am going to copy the genealogy by Xerox, and supply it to those who want one. The bible should go to a family member.

Walter himself was apparently an only child. His uncle Charles had two children, but one died in infancy. The other was named Ida Lena (after Walter P's wife) and married Clarence Bowmer in 1899. That seems to be the only prospect for a continuing family. John Chandler
