    1. Delos Sweet
    2. Joan Meddaugh
    3. Hi all, I am looking for any information I can find about a Delos Sweet stepfather to my grandmother May A. Payne Beebe wife of William Beebe. Grandma May's mother was Olive Damon. She had been married to Truman Payne who died about 1875. Olive at one time lived in W. Eaton NY. but not real sure where she lived after she married Delos. I do know that the 2nd marriage didn't take place for quite a while after the death of her first husband Truman. It might have been at least 12-15 years after Truman's death. And I am pretty sure that Delos and Olive were not buried together. Sure hope some one can help. Joan Beebe Meddaugh

Here's a suggestion. Recruit a son of Harry, Gurney, Murl, or Gilbert into the Sweet DNA project (or a son of a son). That will tell you whether you are related to any of the Sweets already in the project, and, if so, which Sweets. (I'm assuming that Gurney and Murl were males.) John Chandler

    3. Ken wrote: > I would sure like to know where the other sons and daughters of Jeremiah and > Freelove went: Olive married Reuben Aldrich, Naomi married Zebedee > Mathewson, Betsey married Peleg Peck, and Benjamin Sweet ??? That's Benajah, rather than Benjamin. He was living in Providence, RI, as shown by the censuses of 1800, 1810, 1820, and 1830, and he died in 1834 according to his RevWar pension file. As you probably know, there was also a son Philip, but he died before Jeremiah. I don't know of any others besides the daughters you mentioned. Note: it's Jeremiah's ancestry that has me puzzled. He was evidently the son of Daniel and Ethelanah (Carpenter) Sweet, but Daniel's parents are unknown. The best I can do is point to DNA test results that show a descendant of Daniel (via son Timothy) matches the Sweets descended from John of Salem and Providence. John Chandler

    3. Hi Richard, You're right, this is a quiet list. My Sweet is Patience (Sweet) Dyer, daughter of Jeremiah and Freelove (Wright) Sweet of Glocester, Rhode Island late 1700s. She married Oliver Dyer and removed by 1820 to New Berlin, Chenango County, NY where their grown children were already living. I would sure like to know where the other sons and daughters of Jeremiah and Freelove went: Olive married Reuben Aldrich, Naomi married Zebedee Mathewson, Betsey married Peleg Peck, and Benjamin Sweet ??? I have solid info about Betsey and Peleg (they went to Fly Creek/Burlington Flats, Otsego Co., NY about 1795),, but have lost the others. Ken Brown Linden, MI
