Do you think my husband's ancestor, Olive Sweet, b. 1820's New York, could be related to Oliver Sweet?
I am in the process of trying to find the 1871 Census and i really don't know where to find it. Bonnie

DO YOU SUPPOSE THE SWEET'S IN GEORGINA TWP SNAKE ARE RELATED TO YOUR SWEET'S BONNIE
Our Sweet family branch also participated in John Chandler's Sweet Family DNA study. We are descended from Oliver Sweet of East Greenwich, RI. He is a member of John Chandler's Group I and is descended from: John Sweet of Salem b. abt. 1579 John b 1620 Richard b. 1662 Benjamin b. 1698 Benjamin b. 1722 Oliver b. 1746 Benjamin b. 1780 Joseph b. 1817 Chester b, 1855 Our representative in the DNA project was a great-grandson of Chester. Chester is my maternal grandfather. Our Oliver was b. Aug 18, 1746 and d. bet 1747 and 1836. He was married to Susanna Rice Feb 6, 1767. He had a second wife, Catherine b. Jul 19 1779. Oliver and Susanna were the parents of Benjamin Sweet b. Feb 13, 1780, d. Oct 10, 1829 and Joseph Sweet b. bef. 1779. I don't have any other children of Oliver and Susanna or Oliver and Catherine, but I suspect there may be more. Oliver had at least 5 siblings. If this Oliver is the Oliver of RI that you are looking for, we can supply much more information. How are you related to Oliver? Still looking for information about a Delos Sweet who married my great grandmother olive Damon ( Damen) Payne widow of Truman Payne. Her daughter May A. Payne is my grandmother. Truman died in 1875 and about 10-12 years later or even 15 May's mother Olive married Delos. I am not sure how long they were married before he died. Any help you can give is appreciated. They may have lived in Madison Co. NY around W. Eaton or even Brookfield, NY. I am not sure even where they are buried. Joan Beebe Meddaugh

That said, it could also be that she was merely "from" Auburn when she and Fred were married. Either way, no Albertas of any variety, b. @ that time, from anywhere in New England, based on 1900 Census. Of course, she's likely "hidden" as were her children in the 1910 Census. On the copy, but never transcribed. Cheers, Jared

According to the catalog posted at familysearch.org, there are two films that may be of interest to you. The first is film #10408, listing births in Auburn 1842-1891; the second is film #10413 that also contains records of births in Auburn during that same time frame. The same website will also give you the address for a Family History Center near your home. Good luck!!

Surnames: hamilton, sweet, sweat, sweatt, swett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HBRBAIB/1371 Message Board Post: Good day fellow researchers! I have recently come across a birth certificate, listing Albert M. Sweet as the mother of Thelma Agnes Hamilton, b. 1901, Portland, ME. The father was Fred S. H. (or E.) Hamilton, also born around 1872, at Chebeague Island. A thorough scouring of available online census data, marriage records, etc, has yielded squat on Alberta. Fred connects to the massive Hamilton lines of Chebeague Island, and most of Cumberland County. On the birth certificate for Thelma, her mother is listed as born in Auburn, yet I can find no trace of her, at least as Alberta! Is there any Swett, etc researcher who may be able to point me in the right direction? Or, anyone in the Auburn area who has access to vital records for that city/town, back in the early 1870's? As the census record for 1910 indicates, this was Alberta's first marriage, so, for the most part, I've eliminated consideration of Sweet, etc, being a married name. However, we all know census records are far from absolute. Anyway, looking forward to corresponding with anyone who might offer possibilities, clues, guesses, even hard evidenciary facts on the origins of this mysterious Alberta. Many Thanks, Jared (Nashua, NH)

It was December 20, 2004, a day like most other days, when Christopher Ryan Harper, five years of age, went to be with Jesus. Christopher was a very strong little man. He had been fighting cancer for one and a half years. He was a joy and a light in our house. We know that he is now in a better place and will not have to fight cancer any more. We would like all of you to know that no matter what happens in our lives, God is good all the time. We all have good times and bad, but that does not change who He is. Christopher has four brothers, Michael, Aaron, Isaac and Josiah and one sister, Katie Jo, and Mommy and Daddy (Laurie and Mike Harper), who all love Christopher so very much and always will. Christopher also has two very loving grandparents who live across the street from him, Allan and Kathy Sweet. We will all miss Christopher so very much. He is our little cowboy and always will be. We all love you and miss you, Christopher. See you soon. Christopher's memorial will be held at Moses Lake Alliance Church, 1100 N. Grape Drive on January 7, 2005 at 6 p.m. in Moses Lake.
