My William Sweeney was the son of John Sweeney and Ida Alice Whitcomb and was probably born in Iroquois Co., Illinois. His mother left his father about 1892 and moved to McDonald Co., Missouri where she married Henry Asa Herring. In the 1910 Federal Census William is shown with his mother (by then divorced from her 3rd husband, James White) in Jasper County, Missouri and he, too is shown as "divorced". I cannot find him after the 1910 Federal Census. His sister (my grandmother, Amanda Edith Sweeney Herring) married Frank Farris and died in 1917. He also had a half brother, George Herring and half sister, Katherine Viola Rachel Herring. Does anyone know what happened to William?
