Mary (or Mary Kay?) and list Members: Hi All. Nope Mary, those definitely aren't my line, but on my line (there is a book published on my line.........a family history book, called The Family of Moses Sweeney) no one seems to know anything about the original immigrant. Only that his name was probably John or Charles, that his son Moses (from whom all of us on this line are decended), was born in 1750, and that the two of them came from Antrim County, near Belfast (I suppose that is like a city would be here in the states). A man travelling alone with a son, somewhere between the age of 4 and 16, sounds strange to me. Where was mom? Where was his family? So, for all of you who have Sweeney's who came over after, please see if there is any reference made to a Charles or a John who settled first in VA married a New Jersey born Johnson, and made a life in VA along the Slate River and then moved to Liberty, KY.
