On to the SWEENEYS from Crossmolina, County Mayo: Patrick Sweeney b 1834 mar Catherine CONNOR b 1836. Married ca 1857, but never found the marriage due to poor quality of the film of Crossmolina Parish. Children are Martin who went to NY 1882and married Anna BYRON in 1887, Mary who married John McGoff 1888, James who went to USA 1882 and married Bridget MANGAN of AddergooleParish,Mayo in Boston 1889,Thomas mar Mary BARRETT,Patrick Issac mar Nora BARRETT, Daniel mar Cate DOOGHER, Margaret marr Pat CLIFFORD, Have information on the whole line and would love to share. I would like to know if anyone is researching SWEENEY in the Crossmolina are in the 1800s. I believe that Patricks parents may be James SWEENEY and Mary GILLESPIE/SPY. Does anyone have ANY info on James and Mary??? Went to Crossmolina to visit my new family of Sweeneys- it was thrilling! Also saw the Sweeney castle (Doe Castle) in Creelough, Donegal and the Castle SWEEN in Scotland- AWESOME!!!
