I have relatives who are soon taking a trip to Ireland. While there they hope to do a little genealogy research on the Sweeneys. They are not genealogists, I might add, and don't know where to go for info there. They have asked me to give them suggestions. I don't have a clue, only to tell them to check out church records, etc. in Donegal where the Sweeneys were supposed to have come from.
