    3. Searching for information on the family of Edmund and Ellen McSweeney who operated a grocery in the Kerry Patch neighborhood of St. Louis in the 1860s and possibly up to the late 1870s. I believe that they are the parents of Miles McSweeney, born 1860 in Missouri. Miles McSweeney married Ellen Scollard about 1878 and they had a large family -- but only five children lived to adulthood. All but one of the children changed their name to Sweeney (Mary, Sara, Edward and Michael). A son, Myles McSweeney, kept the old spelling and moved to Jackson Michigan. Sons Edward and Michael died before 1911. Mary (aka May) married Ed Podgen and remained in St. Louis. Sara (aka Sadie) married Charles Miller and also stayed in St. Louis. Miles vanished before 1894. Ellen Scollard McSweeney died in 1894 of TB. Children entered orphan asylums or convents or were left to relatives including a family in New York City. Looking for any information or connection to this family. Ken Hartke
