Hello.. I've recently joined this new List and hope to find some information on some Sweeneys in Wales.. My Sweeney clan shows up in Newport, RI in the late 1800's..My g-grandfather was John Francis Sweeney b. 1871 and family lore says he was born in Wales..He married Bertha Wetherell in Newport, RI on 1-11-1894.. John's siblings were Thomas Jr., Joseph T., Patrick L., Elizabeth and Katherine.. I'd like to hear from anyone with connections to these Sweeneys or information on migration from Ireland to Wales..
