Recently, on another surname list there was a discussion about some people, of the same descent, having inherited a particular physical characteristic (in that case - a bent little finger). This has prompted me to ask if anyone knows of, what might be called, an extra-digit propensity among the Sweeneys? I once knew a Sweeney who had twelve fingers and twelve toes. I have no idea whether this is the sort of thing that could be inherited or whether it would be a random occurance.
