Looking for connections of Bernard SWEENEY, born somewhere in County Cavan, Ireland in about 1830. He emigrated to America, probably in the late 1840s or early 1850s, and was living in Cambria County, Pennsylvania at the time of the 1860 census. In 1864 he moved to northeastern Iowa where he lived in Buchanan County and from 1871 in Chickasaw county. He moved to York, Nebraska in about 1888 and died there at the home of his daughter Mary in 1906. He is buried in New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa, next to his wife Elizabeth and their daughter, Ann Jane. Ann Jane was born about 1853. Other children were Mark, born about 1855 and Mary, born about 1857, all born in Pennsylvania, as was his wife, Elizabeth.

My Great grandfather was Daniel Griffin Sweeney b. 11 JUn 1865 Bradley, Escombie, Florida. D. 6 Feb 1952 He married Ellen Nora Elizabeth Nichols Jun 1886. They had 11 children. Would be happy to send to anyone needing them. Daniel's father was Darby Sweeney b. 17 Apr 1824 Randolf, Georgia died 18 Sep 1916, Falco, Covington, Alabama. Md. Mary Gatewood 27 Aug 1863. They had 6 children Darby's father was Alfred Sweeney. His mother Christine Douglas. I would like to know more about Alfred and Christine. Will be happy to share what I have.
