Hi. I'm looking for info on Lucinda Sweeney (b. Jan. 30, 1806) I'm not sure where she was born but probably on the Kingston Peninsula, New Brunswick. She married Abraham Prince (b. June 28, 1793) They had at least two daughters, Abigail (1837-1868) and Elizabeth. Possibly a Matilda also. The family lived on the Kingston Peninsula, New Brunswick or in Hampton, New Brunswick. Hi Dorothy, The names that I have are George, Bridget, Teresa, Margaret, Mary, Thomas, James and an Edward, and of course Helen and Rosanna. George was born in Dundee but I have a sneaky feeling his parents were from Ireland, Bridget (his wife) her maiden name was White and she was from Ireland. Don't you just hate it when they say "Ireland", is it too much to put down at least the county, or am I asking too much, ha, ha!! I will find out for definite on Wednesday where his parents were born as I am off to the Dundee Registrar Office and I will be getting his birth certificate, for sure. Does your mystery lady not appear on any census records etc.? Hi Fellow Sweeney's, Does anyone out there in SweeneyLand know anything about RC Bishop John Sweeney? I do know that he was born in 1821 in the town of Clones in County Monaghan on the border of Ulster. His family immigrated to Canada 5 years after he was born. I do not know his parents names, however I do know they were relatives and I am trying to make the connection. He was a priest at St. Michael's on the Miramichi for a number of years and then sent to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Saint John.He used to make treks to Johnville,NB. and was responsible for a church being erected there. The community of Johnville is named after him. He then became the first Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint John on April 15/1860. I would like to know who his parents were and if there were any siblings..and if so, what happened to them. I don't have the date of emigration but I know it was before June of 1851. He may have been travelling with Mary Waters or she may have already been his wife by then, Mary Waters Sweeney.
