Gammelmormor or gamlemormor is greatgrandmother. Mother's mother's mother or mormors mor. Gammelfarmor is also a greatgrandmother, father's mother's mother or farmors mor. Uncle is farbror or morbror, father's brother or mother's brother. To make an exact translation to Swedish you'll need to know the exact relationships in each generation. Wife of greatgrand uncle could mean farfars farbrors hustru or farmors morbrors hustru or something like that. Thank you, Martin. I suspected that she was a great grandmother because of when she was born. And when I checked to see who her husband was I knew immediately that it was my farrfar farbrors hustru. It really turns out to be a very simple process and I was over thinking it. Lois On 11/30/2012 8:58 AM, Martin wrote: > Gammelmormor or gamlemormor is greatgrandmother.
