    3. I found an immigration record for a possible relative. It is for a Daniel Blom arriving in New York, 28 April 1923. The relative lists Sandviken as his home. I googled Sandviken and it indicates that town is in Gavleborg. My Ancestry Sweden Church files indicate that only birth, death and marriage records are available for that town, starting in 1935. Are there church records for this town under a different name prior to 1935? What about Household Examination records? This is somewhat of a long shot, but I have some local records that indicate a Dan Blom lived at the same residence as my great grandparents around 1888, the year my great grandfather died. I have no reason to believe that my great grandfather had siblings and I have no records other than one city directory for Moline, IL, that identify this Dan Blom. I would like to take a harder look at Sandviken if that is possible. Thanks for any help. Regards, John from Iowa

    3. According to "Cradled in Sweden," Sandviken and Högbo are both names for the same parish.  Högbo has a lot more historical Swedish records - try there. ________________________________ From: John Bloom <john.bloom52@gmail.com> To: Swedish Look Ups <SWEDEN@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 11, 2012 10:44 AM Subject: [SWEDEN] Sandviken I found an immigration record for a possible relative.  It is for a Daniel Blom arriving in New York, 28 April 1923.  The relative lists Sandviken as his home.  I googled Sandviken and it indicates that town is in Gavleborg.
