I guess you cannot do the Swedish letters using the Alt Key? So can anyone please tell me how I can do that? David "Pete" Peterson 4th Grand Nephew of Nathanial Wintringer 1st engineering officer of the Sultana The Sultana was a Cival War time Mississippi riverboat
Hi Pete - Since I use extra letters for more than one language, the easiest for me (since I don't remember the numbers all that well and I kept losing the instruction sheet) was to go to the Control Panel, add the keyboard layouts for those countries, click Apply...., whereupon a new logo appeared on the bottom right of my taskbar that says EN for my primary keyboard layout. Click on that, the scroll menu comes up, I click on whatever language I need for the three extra vowels (SV for Swedish), then click on it again and select EN from the menu and I'm back to English. [If you don't click Apply, nothing happens and you have to start out all over.] If you go that route, the extra vowels are under the ;: ' " and [{ keys for öÖ äÄ åÅ. A lot of the rest of the keyboard is identical to ours except for upper case things for numbers, and, of course, when I go to use an apostrophe or quotes or semi-colon then I realize I have forgotten to switch back to EN. Good Luck. When using Vista the shifted selection above a number comes out as, Number 1` 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 + ´ Upper Case ! " # ¤ % & / ( ) = ? ` What key do you use for the @ sign above the 2. Using the Swedish keyboard you get " when pressing the @ key. Do we keep shifting between EN and SV? Lafe
