When we send inquiries to the list all subsequent messages related to that inquiry should be sent under the same subject line. The primary reason for this is that all messages are archived and available to anyone who may have an interest now or in the future. When you change that subject line with "Thank you *" or anything unrelated, people who may be following the original subject now cease to follow the string because they see it as a personal message to someone and have no idea that a string is continuing.
