Hej and Hello, my name is Karsten (Kuske), I´m from Germany and I try to find my ancestors in Sweden. What do I know: My 3-greatgrandmother´s name was Hanna NILSSON * 14. March 1855 in Olofstöms kommun (maybe in Farabol, maybe in Jämshög) Emigrated to Germany oo 10. April 1877 in Curau, Schleswig-Holstein to Johann Christian Cristoph Dahlmann from Schleswig-Holstein (today the district of Curau is part of the parish of Stockelsdorf in the county of Ostholstein, state of Schleswig-Holstein, in the 19th century (from 1866 on) it was part of the principality of Lübeck) + 10. January 1934 in Bad Schwartau, Schleswig-Holstein Her parents are Nils NILSSON Sissa HÅKANSDOTTER (a with o above). Evidence/Sources already known: Birth: Proof of Ancestry from my Grandfather; Jämshögs Kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och Dopböcker, Huvudserien (found at Svenska Riksarkivet, SE/LLA/13196/C I/7 (1849-1867)); Jämshögs Kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och Dopböcker, Huvudserien (found at Svenska Riksarkivet, SE/LLA/13196/C I/5 (1828-1857)); corresponding data from DSSS; >From these records it can be read that the family lived in Farabol (property-no. 120) and that Hanna was baptized in Jämshögs kyrka (I know that Farabol moved to Kyrkhults försammling somewhen in the 1860´s). I do have some evidence about the date she emigrated to Germany: >From the Migrationsregistret: Her person-ID is I11329. 24. April 1871 from Falsehult, she´s mentioned as torparedotter (which corresponds with the baptismal entry: Nils is a torpare). Returning in 1874. Another entry states: Person-ID I11330, moving out on 3. April 1876 (again to Germany), as bonddotter from Björkefall, and no return is mentioned. Both entries states that she went alone. But: In both sources her name is Johanna NilsDOTTER, but the birthdate and birthplace is the same as from my Hanna - Jämshög. I have found NO entry for a Johanna Nilsdotter born 14. March 1855 in Jämshögs försammling >From the In-och Utflyttnings-Längd för Kyrkhult, Svenska Church Records Kyrkhult/Blekinge 1865-1887 I have the information that a maid (piga) Hanna Nilsdotter moved out to Schleswig on 26. August 1867. Another puzzling item is: >From Jämshögs and Kyrkhults Church Books I have evidence, that she had some siblings. Name of the parents fit, also some places where the parents/family lived at the time of birth of the siblings: In chronological order: 1854, 1855 in Farabol, 1864 in Mulantorp, 1867, 1871 in Falshult. The father´s occupation changes between torpare and bonde. What strikes me is that the age of the mover jumps wildly around given, that I can read the entries from the church books correctly Her siblings names are/could be (also in chronological order): Ingerd (older than Hanna), Ola, Jöns (who died 1/2 day after his birth), Bengta. So, now I do have lots of questions and I really need some help, as my Swedish-skills are far below of what I would need to find my way on my own through archives, websites etc. In the documents, where her family name is stated (these are mostly German), it´s NilsSON. The only Swedish document I found (the Migrationsregistret and the Flyttnings-Längd) says NilsDOTTER. I know a bit about the system of Swedish (family)names (the patronymic system), but it changed somewhen when? How reliably are the data ref. to the age of the mother given in the parish registers for the children? Is the person-ID unique or could it be that it changed? And lots more So, in short and overall: Is there anyone who is familiar with ancestry research in Blekinge (and for further in Kronoberg and Skane) and able to help me? Esp. how to proceed from Hanna, continuing with her parents (how to find s.th. about Nils and Sissa, only knowing the names?). Or to give me some help finding my way through Swedish websites (thank God many of them offer English information ) or a direct contact? Any help is welcome. Thanks a lot and tack så mycket fran Tyskland, Karsten
