    3. Thank you Bo for all the leads. Poor Johannus needed some career counseling. He moved 1845, and then again in 1847 and again in 1852. It is time to search in the next HFL. I did find the information on SweGGate about farm ownership and I did not know that Oct 24 was the moving date. I knew that it was in October but I did not realize that it was a specific date by law. So how did it work? Did the drang change positions by choice or was his "contract" not renewed when that date came around in Oct. I could see that they got room and board but how much money did they earn? I have visited a few farms and if I recall the board part of the agreement was pretty sparse. What a life. Thanks for your help. Äspered is a parish, and in the parish is a village named Äspered, that village had 5 farms (which were probably sub-divided) in the 1826-1845 HFL. 3. And the next mystery in poor Johannus's life. I found him in the Toarp HFL AI:11 1859-1867 image 104 page 200. Johannus moves in 1862 back to Ving. I found him in the moving out record and it states Ving. I have read the in moving record for Ving for 1862 (and 1861 and 1863) but he seems to be missing. Did he just disappear? What happens if someone had the moving out paper for one church but does not go there? Now how can I find him? Would he be on a death data base? Where should I look next? I have checked the other members of the family like at the torp where they are but no Johannus Svensson. Thanks for any suggestions and ideas. 3. Thank you thank you...what a great surprise to wake up to this message. So I should not be too critical of my research skills (but they definitely need work) I missed the moving in record because he was listed as born in 1829 but it was corrected on the next HFL. I was able to follow him through 1899 when the HFL's ended. I then read through the death records and I found his death (Johannus/Johannes) 6 May, 1913. Now I can look for the rest of his brothers and sisters. So far I have found only one sibling who went to America. (That was the ancestor in our family.) Thanks again for your wonderful help.
