Now I'm confused again. Would the son Per (Pehr) have gotten the Lundqvist name when he became a reservist? I have checked all the Mantalslängd records for Per Modig from Ola's death up to the creation of the HFL's. Estred lived with him till her death, and have found his line of descendants. Also, if I ordered Ola Modig's record through the Centrala Soldatregistret how likely is it that there will be more info than what is in the database or General Roll Musters? They have his birthdate as the one I have which just makes this all the more confusing. Looking for the Death of this first Pehr born in 1775 Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 228 / page 453 (AID: v111347.b228.s453, NAD: SE/L I found another son Zahris born Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 21 / page 25 (AID: v111347.b21.s25, NAD: SE/LLA/13279) Died Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 227 / page 451 (AID: v111347.b227.s451, NAD: SE/LLA/13279) (so that changes the first born son after the father's father, I went back to 1771 3years before Ola and Estred's marriage to see if there were others...just to be sure) and then there is another one here Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 22 / page 27 (AID: v111347.b22.s27, NAD: SE/LLA/13279) I also decided to check the bouppteckning after Ola Modigs death. I found his name but I'm not sure if it's his (?) the top of the page is in pretty bad shape and I've never dealt with these records before. This would eliminate Mans Olsson as > a > father (maybe). There is also “some” who “believe” that Hjellaröd rather > than Ravnahalla is where he was born. I haven’t found anything there yet. --- Notice that it seems the regiment didn't record "family names" (actually patronymic surnames, or previous surname) for any soldiers, at least none in the "other soldiers" list for soldier number 54 of 1st Company: http://www.ep.liu.se/databases/soldatregister/dbrecord.en.aspx?id=810206 It is of course possible that Ola already had the name Modig when recruited, this regiment didn't seem to reuse a soldier name for this position, except in the case of reserve soldier Per Lundqvist, who replaced his father Ola Modig as solder number 54 in 1801, and got the name Modig. His birth is recorded as Pehr born 22 Dec 1778, parents cavalry soldier Ola Modig in Nötarp and wife Estrid(?) Zackrisdotter. Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 25 / page 33 (AID: v111347.b25.s33, NAD: SE/LLA/13279) --- Notice that Hallaröd was in the Norra Rörum and Hallaröd "pastorat", i checked the births 1742-1746. There is an Olof born 10 Dec 1743, parents Jöns Pärsson and Hanna Andersdotter of Esparöd. Hallaröd CI:2 (1717-1777) Image 50 / page 85 (AID: v109657.b50.s85, NAD: SE/LLA/13136). And another Olof born 14 Apr 1744, parents Matthis Pärsson and Arina(?) Pärsdotter of Hallaröds Byy. Hallaröd CI:2 (1717-1777) Image 51 / page 87 (AID: v109657.b51.s87, NAD: SE/LLA/13136). And Olof born 8 dec 1745, parents Pär Månson and Sissela Nilsdotter. Hallaröd CI:2 (1717-1777) Image 53 / page 91 (AID: v109657.b53.s91, NAD: SE/LLA/13136). But your Ola could have been from any parish... One clue could be that the first son born 21 Nov 1775 seems to be named Per(??), it was common (but not universal!) to name the first son after the father's father. Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 14 / page 11 (AID: v111347.b14.s11, NAD: SE/LLA/13279). Or perhaps the name is Thol, or Boe? Since the son born 1778 was named Per, this one probably died before then if his name was Per. > > As for his quick advance in years, his death in 1800 shows he was 57. > Norra-Rörum-CI-2-1774-1823-Image-248-page-493 --- Yes that fits better with his age in the earlier muster rolls. // Bo Johansson > > Bo and rhonda simpson wrote 2014-07-03 06:35: >> >> This is one of my 4th great grandfathers: Ola Modig [...] >> >> MODIG Ohla >> >> Family name:- >> Birth date: 17430313 >> Death date: 18001009 >> Enlisted: 1772 >> Discharged: - >> >> File number: SH-01-0054-1772 >> >> Regiment: Skånska Husarregementet >> File: Norra Fredskog 1 >> Company: Livkompaniet >> Parish: Farstorp >> Croft Number: SH-01-0054 >> >> This is his first entry >> >> Generalmönsterrullor - Skånska husarregementet 902 (1775-1775) Image 340 >> (AID: v376607.b340, NAD: SE/KrA/0023) >> >> [...] >> >> This is his last giving his death >> >> Generalmönsterrullor - Skånska husarregementet 910 (1801-1801) Image 310 >> (AID: v376662.b310, NAD: SE/KrA/0023) >> >> His son Sven born 1788 to Ola Modig and Estred Zachrisdotter >> Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 50 / page 83 (AID: v111347.b50.s83, >> NAD: SE/LLA/13279) > > --- Cavalry soldier Ola Modig in Nötorp(?). > >> >> His Marriage to Estred Zachrisdotter in 1774 >> Norra Rörum CI:2 (1774-1823) Image 189 / page 361 (AID: >> v111347.b189.s361, >> NAD: SE/LLA/13279) > > --- No more info.
