Hi, I am following the Erik Johan Skogstrom family at Grava AI:19 (1866-1870) Bild 297 / sid 294 (AID: v11302.b297.s294, NAD: SE/VA/13155) and note that 20/7 1868 Erik Johan was sentenced to one year straffarbete and 10 years loss of civic confidence (förlust af medborgerlig förtroende för förfalskningsbrott) for falsifying something. In the record quoted there are 2 words I cannot read which come after "förfalskning" in the first line. It would be great to know where he was working when this happened and maybe they relate to the place. The pastor was so thrilled with this story, he repeated it in the next book: Grava AI:20 (1871-1875) Bild 350 / sid 345 (AID: v11303.b350.s345, NAD: SE/VA/13155), but there are no new details except the number "350" under Moved out. But Erik Johan doesn't show up on page 350 of the HFL or the moving-out book or the missing person book. He seems to stay put with his family in Norra Skived. The next pastor tells the story again at Grava AI:22 (1876-1880) Bild 254 / sid 250 (AID: v11305.b254.s250, NAD: SE/VA/13155) and this time he gives the number 233 under moving out (no year). Cannot find anything anywhere at 233. And finally, the pastor at Grava AI:24 (1881-1885) Bild 238 / sid 233 (AID: v11307.b238.s233, NAD: SE/VA/13155) gives a much shorter story, but interestingly says "Dömd 68 20/7 _ sc (?) G.B.." I thought this might mean Gillberga or Göteborg, but I find no prison reports for Skogstrom in either place. I would really appreciate any help with my 4 questions: 1) can anyone please read the two words I cannot decipher in Grava AI:19 (1866-1870) Bild 297 / sid 294, 2) can anyone think of a way to see if Erik Johan Skogstrom got a prison record somewhere, 3) what does "loss of civic confidence" actually mean for a person, was he barred from working for the community or did people stop speaking to him and 4) does straffarbete mean "hard labor" in a prison or some sort of public service he had to perform.
