    3. I have had some luck finding living relatives. I have found the death dates of the "known" relatives and then I ordered the Boupteckning for the deceased and that has given the names of decedents and where they were living. I have then used the Swedish telephone directory (google Swedish telephone directory and you will have several choices.) It has been helpful when the family had a less common name. Several times I have emailed the local community for help in finding folks. Good luck. 3. Virginia, I am going to be going to Sweden next month.  I have been sending out letters to all the addresses my deceased mother had in her book.  The addresses weren't quite as old as what you mentioned, but several of my relatives are living in their parent's or grandparent's or great-grandparent's homes, so they reached living relatives when the parents, etc. had passed on.  I hope you have some addresses to start with. Someone else I know wrote to the local newspaper requesting assistance and giving what information they had.  The had some success. Good luck. If you don't already have exact information, ask on the list for look-ups in the Swedish Death Index 1901-2009. Use that information to request "bouppteckning" (estate inventory) at http://riksarkivet.se/bouppteckning The usually will not demand any fee, as long as you give good information, so you don't have to do any research. // Bo Johansson

Any heirs will be mentioned in the "bouppteckning", then you can find their present addresses at for example birthday.se Or if they have also died, get a look-up in the Death Index, request a "bouppteckning" and find their heirs... // Bo Johansson
