I wanted to share a new resource for the list. I have used the Swenson Center at Augustana College but the distance to Rock Island, IL has made the project difficult. I was searching for records on the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Chicago (when it was at Sedgewick and Hobbie) and I discovered that the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) loans out microfilm at $15 per reel per month. Since I knew the time period that I was researching I was able to order it by mail. I can take it to my local library and hopefully I will learn more about the family.
