    1. [SWEDEN] what is a "dagakarl"?
    2. Hi, I am looking at the Erik Olsson family at Hille AI:24 (1881-1885) Bild 23 / sid 18 (AID: v135510.b23.s18, NAD: SE/HLA/1010072) and it says Erik is a "Dagak." there and in birth records for one son. On this page mentioned, there are others where it is written out as "Dagakarl." I was thinking this might be a day worker, but I looked up a translation and Interglot says a "dagakarl" is a man who puts a person to death. (!) I count 5 Dagakarlar in Trödje uthedes 1. Could someone tell me if this is the right translation, please? Thank you, Nina

    1. Re: [SWEDEN] what is a "dagakarl"?
    2. Hi Naomi, Thanks for the answer. It is definitely written "dagakarl" with an "a" in the middle. I thought it might be "dagskarl" but it really, really looks more like an "a" than an "s" in the middle. So, does that make a difference (it isn't "dagkarl")?
