    3. Hi, This is my first post here. It's nice that the list is so active! I'm searching for my second great grandfather Pehr Wilhelm Lundin. He disappeared from mining town Sala stadsförsamling in Västmanland Sweden around 1869. His wife's divorce documents mention that it had been known that he left for America. My family and I have searched passenger lists and census records in the US several times, but we have not been able to find him. It's likely that he left under a different name. I'm currently looking at the possibility that he followed someone to the US, but I doubt that was an option for him, considering he abandoned his family and was supposedly carrying money that belonged to the local school. He appears to have been fully capable of traveling alone. I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to find this man. If nothing else, this will put his information out there. Pehr Wilhelm Lundin was born in Kungsholm, Stockholm, May 26 1843. Alternative name Petter Wilhelm Lundén. Mother: Catharina Lundin b. 1807, father unknown. Siblings: (All dead in 1869.) Anna Lisa Mathilda Carl Magnus Rosina Mathilda Wife Sophia Petronella Ruuth b. May 31 1835 Sons Theodor Wilhelm Carl Johan A non drinker and well behaved according to his wife. Likely quite religious and driven. 1851-1855: Foster child for Adolf Fredrik Jonsson and wife Stina Pettersdotter in Åseda, Kronobergs län (until Adolf´s conviction). 1856-1858: Foster child for tailor/soldier Carl Johan Haglund and wife Anna Stina Adamsdotter in Åseda, Kronobergs län. 1859: Farmhand in Fagerhult, Kalmar län. Moved to Geddeholm Irsta, Västmanlands län, count Lewenhaupt's mansion near Västerås, with the family of Abraham Engzell and Anna Elisabeth Jonasdotter. 1859 - 1866: Worked as a tailor's apprentice and farmhand in and around Våsterås, Västmanland. Apart from Västerås he also lived in Onsholms torp in Irsta, Västmanland, and Qvarnvreten Sörby in Västervåla/Wester Wåhla, Västmanland. His employers other than Engzell were tailors Lind and Karl Erik Hedström. 1866: Moved to Sala stadsförsamling, Västmanlands län. He was now a tailor. According to family tradition he was a teacher. Married Sophia Petronella Ruuth. Birth of first son Theodor Wilhelm. 1867: Birth of second son Carl Johan. 1869, later half: Missing. Disappearance: Pehr's wife Sophia states in her divorce application in February 1883 that Pehr had left 14 years earlier. His last communion is recorded on May 1 1869. The next occasion for Sophia is Nov 13 1870. My interpretation is that the most likely time for his disappearance is between May 1 1869 and Dec 31 1869. He was 26 at the time. Thank you, Annika
