    3. Hello, I am trying to locate birth record for Algot Andersson b. 18 Mar 1884. His WWII Draft Record and index for US Cit App indicate he was born in Mellerud, Sweden. Other records indicate Halland. My book indicates that there is a Mellerud parish in Ålvsborg län, but I can find nothing on AD or leads from other sources. I found a modern Mellerud which appears to be located in the NE of what was Ålvsborg län. Can someone point me in the right direction? Could it have been a farm village in a Hallands parish? Records indicate that he emigrated in 1903. A check of those records may provide a clue. He ended up in Rhode Island, US.     3. Mellerud in Älvsborgs län is in the province (landskap) Dalsland. Easily mixed up with Halland.
