Måns Lind born 1783 was a soldier, so Lind would be his soldier name. From the Central Soldiers Register: LIND Måns Surname: Gunnesson Born: 17830419 Diedd: 18420518 Accepted: 1805 Discharged: 1812 Document number: SH-01-0098-1805 Regiment: Skånska Husarregementet "Rote": Boa No1 Company: Livkompaniet Parish: Farstorp "Torp" number: SH-01-0098 The document number means he was soldier number 98 of 1st Company, recruited 1805. There were several soldiers from Farstorp named Lind, Linde, Lindell, Lindberg and Lindgren. http://www.ep.liu.se/databases/soldatregister/search.sv.aspx // Bo Johansson
Not much luck with Jöns Lind so far, but this might be Nils Lind - SH-08-0119-1806. Nils married 19 Dec 1806 Hästveda. His occupation was 'dragon'. Son Jöns was born 27 May 1808. Nils occupation was 'hussar'. Daughter Magnil was born 29 Dec 1810. Nils occupation was 'husar'. Daughter Karna was born 4 Dec 1813. Nils occupation was 'torpare'. So a soldier named Nils Lind enlisting in 1806 and discharging in 1811 would fit very well. And this in Hästveda. Good match, if not direct hit. Is there a fee for asking Skånes Knektregister to look up any more details of this soldier? -----Original Message----- From: Bo Johansson [mailto:bo.h.johan56@bredband.net] Sent: 03 July 2015 07:59 To: Kevin Walker; sweden@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: CORRECTION: [SWEDEN] Seeking transcription or translation of a moving in entry Den 2015-07-02 kl. 20:37, skrev Kevin Walker: > > One interesting and unrelated name I noted in Boa hus, Farstorp. > In AI:1 (1813-1819) Image 19 / page 16 is a Måns Lind, born > 12 Apr 1783.
