Kevin-- I had a look at Jon Nilsson's bouppteckning (Västra Göinge häradsrätt FIIa:29 (1785-1785) Bild 410 / sid 11 (AID: v158763.b410.s11, NAD: SE/LLA/10076) As you can see, there is only one surviving son--Ola. There are also 3 daughters mentioned. I see also from DISBYT that none of the other people researching Jon Nilsson mention a son Jon. Jon and Bolla married in Osby in 1747. Osby CI:3 (1733-1771) Bild 168 / sid 157 (AID: v100797.b168.s157, NAD: SE/LLA/13300) The couple were only about 21 when they married, but I suppose an illegitimate birth in Osby is possible. I should note that Jon and Jöns should be treated as different names. They'll file in different places in Swedish sources. Hi Jim This does help. I'm grateful to know when and where the marriage took place. Osby (Ousby) records start from 1772 in ddss.nu, and that is why their databases won't record them. Same for Ola's wife, Sissa Andersdotter. HFLs say she was born Ousby on 31 Mar 1766. I'll spend a little time looking through those parish records to see what I can find. At the end of the day it is Soldat Jöns LIND (b 1747) who I am interested in (where he was born, who and when he married, who his parents were), and if Ola is not a brother, and Jon and Bolla are not his parents (as now seems likely), then I shall not attempt to research the family in detail. Just looking for a connection, if one exists. It may be complete coincidence that in the 1784 Population Register for Farstorp (MTL: 1 Image 189), Jon Nilsson and family, and Soldat Lind and family are on adjacent lines. Jöns might have just worked for Jon. But when I saw that Jon and Bolla's first child was born 1748, I wondered if there might have been an earlier son. Much appreciated.
