Hi Bo I googled Sweden Wars and found a good summary of them on Wikipedia at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Sweden. Relevant to the person I'm researching would be Gustav III's War 1788-1790, and the Theater War 1788-1789. This was a good pointer from you, because it might possibly explain what happened to Jöns. Also, it might help narrow the timeframe of his death, if he was killed in one of these wars. Hostilities supposedly ended on 14 Aug 1790. The war is a plausible reason for his death, but just another death I cannot explain or date accurately.
