What strikes me is that Jöns was born in 1747, and clearly was at some point in the early 1780's a retired/discharged soldier. By 1789 he would be 42. Did Sweden require former soldiers to re-enlist and fight a war at that age? I don't expect you to know the answer to that question. Otherwise, what you say is very plausible. I did check Karlsrona deaths because they do exist in ddss.nu, but I didn't see Jöns. I will look again. I did note that a lot of men died in the period 1789 to 1790. The line looks like Afs Sold: Lind, h. --- The title looks like "Ihs Sold." (inhyses soldat = lodger soldier), and there is a remark "m i tjänst" (the husband in service), so he was probably not "afskedad" (discharged). There was a war then, so he might have died in Finland, or in the military hospital in Karlskrona.
