Gärds häradsrätt FIIa:32 (1787-1787) Image 55 / page 12 (AID: v157754.b55.s12, NAD: SE/LLA/10018). In the estate inventory is mentioned as guardians for the children Christen's brother tenant farmer Jon Nilsson in Slätthult and brother-in-law(?) cavalry providing farmer ("rusthållare") Ola(?) Jönsson in Brostorp(??). There is a death recorded 22 Aug 1786, Christen Nilsson of Heljastad Hus, cause stomach disease, age 40. Djurröd CI:2 (1768-1845) Image 1580 / page 152 (AID: v98138a.b1580.s152, NAD: SE/LLA/13060). I'n not sure about his title, possibly "Adels Ryttare", which MIGHT mean some kind of cavalry soldier. In 1785 and 1786 there is an "adelsryttare"(?) Christen Torpström with wife and 2 children at Heljesta, in 1787 there is a widow Bengta with 2 children. Djurröd MTL:1 (1742-1800) Image 128 / page 1785 (AID: v173094.b128.s1785, NAD: SE/LLA/13060). Djurröd MTL:1 (1742-1800) Image 132 / page 1786 (AID: v173094.b132.s1786, NAD: SE/LLA/13060). Djurröd MTL:1 (1742-1800) Image 135 / page 1787 (AID: v173094.b135.s1787, NAD: SE/LLA/13060). 1784 is the first year I see Cristen Torpström at Heljesta, before that there was an "adelsryttare" Pehr Holmberg at Heljesta. In 1780 and 1781 there is at Slätthult a Nils Jönsson with sons Christen and Joen, in 1782 Christen is not mentioned. Perhaps this is your Christen, if so his father is Nils Jönsson. Maybe his birth is recorded as Christen born 27 Nov 1745, parents Nils Jonsson and wife Elsa Erlandsdotter of Slätthult. There is also a marriage record 23 May 1781, Christen Nilsson of Slätthult with a maid (unnamed) from the same place. Djurröd CI:2 (1768-1845) Image 110 / page 5 (AID: v98138a.b110.s5, NAD: SE/LLA/13060). Plus on the same page a marriage 26 Dec 1780, widower and "rusthållare" Olla Jönsson of Brostorp in Esphult (Äsphult) parish, and what is probably Christen's sister Karna Nilsdotter of Slätthult. > > Another question - what is the significance of the sentence Helie > Bosson's(?) wife Hanna carried the child? Does that mean Hanna was not > married to Christen? Or that at one time she was married to Helie? I > really wish the Parish had House Records for this time period - it would > probably help me answer so many of my questions. --- The mother was not present at the baptism, and in early birth/baptism records she is often not mentioned. Hanna carried the child at the baptism. // Bo Johansson > >> Den 2015-07-13 kl. 00:45, skrev Dusty Gorman via: >> >> Can someone help translate the birth record for Pär #12 (it is >> the first one on the page). >> Djurröd CI:2 (1768-1845) p. 48 AID: v98138a.b540.s48 > > Number 12 > The 19th August (1781) was baptised Christen Nills[son's] son from > Slätthult with name Pär who was born the 13th August.
