The circumstance is that I know only his date of birth, 22 May 1847 and that he came to America from Sweden at about 22 years of age, so roughly 1869. The first official document that places him in the United States is his application for naturalization on 15 October 1872. I have searched on his given names and date of birth through about 80% of the parishes in Sweden. When I find a close match, I try to find the person in the household examinations and to follow that person until I can disqualify them by death or by remaining in Sweden too long. I found a Carl Johan in County: Kopparberg, Parish: Storra Tuna, village/farm: N. Romme born 20 May 1847, christened 22 May 1847. The image # for that record was 41 (ancestry.com). I have followed him through the HD's finding him last in the same parish and village/farm 1870-79. ON page 355 it references that he moves out on 5 April 1872, reference # 12 for the year 1872.. Below I have included the source information It appears that he is moving to "Elfkarlby" but I can't find that place in my sources. I would like to know where he went and if he stayed there beyond October of 1872. Or another way would be to tell me if he dies later in Sweden or is in a census later in Sweden. My goal is really simple. I want to know that I can disqualify him from my search. I hope this request is clear enough. As always, I appreciate the skill and generous help of those who respond to these requests.
