I request assistance with reading the birth record #31 for 1847 in Hjulsjo, Orebro (image 18 in Ancestry.com) The name and birth date of the child are clear, 1847, May 22, Carl Johan. I am not sure about the mother's name, maybe Stina Casja Jansdotter? No father named. I cannot read the 'yrke' (occupation) or the Hemvist (domicile). I tried a few guesses without success. I would like to follow this individual in the Household Examinations to see if he might be my great grandfather, Carl John Bloom, born 22 May 1847 in Sweden. The HE for 1842 to 1847 is 407 pages so I hope I don't have to look at every page. I know many of the email helpers have far better ability to read the script than I do. Thanks in advance. There is at Hjulsjö a maid Maja Cajsa Jansdotter born 1813-07-28 Hjulsö, perhaps the mother, in [T] Hjulsjö AI:9 (1842-1847) Image 360 / page 353 (AID: v51425.b360.s353, NAD: SE/ULA/10404). She is not crossed out, and there is nothing in the moving-out column, but the last communion date is in 1844. Perhaps you can trace Carl Johan backwards? Carl Johan Holmqvist born 1847-05-22 Hjulsjö is found 1880 with wife and children at Bällsta in [Y] Tuna AI:14a (1877-1886) Image 80 / page 73 (AID: v122781.b80.s73, NAD: SE/HLA/1010212). He had left for N.America without giving proper notice, and is recorded as absent in Swedish Census 1880. // Bo Johansson
