    1. [SWEDEN] I'm Stuck
    2. greg via
    3. I have done a lot of work on my family name. I have 1 major blockage. With what I have, do you think the 2 family Lines are connected or just a coincidence using the same name? There are 2 known Wickenberg families in Sweden. 1st was Pedher Hansson. He added the name Wickenberg in a1650. He was born in 1630, and lived in Hovik, near Granna. My line was started by Magnus Persson, b. Jan 18 1762 in Kronoberg. For some reason I can't find what part he was born in. I know I had it. It was Väckelsång or Tingsås. He moved around in both. He started using the name Wickenberg in the 1780s. Records list it as Wickenberg Vickenberg, Wickelberg, etc. Someone submitted information to the Mormon (The IGI) listing Magnus as Magnus Jonasson Wickelberg, but none of the HFL's or Birth Records, ever listed Magnus as Magnus Jonasson. Magnus was the son of: Pehr Jönsson, b. Jan 30 1714 in Sutarslatt, Väckelsång. I have been trying to find out why Magnus added the name Wickenberg, and if the 2 Wickenberg families are connected. Magnus was not known to have been a soldier The 2 families were not living that close together. Some clues: KGF Marriage Database: "Soldaten" Jonas (Nilsson) Wikelberg from Wäckelsång Trottagårds Soldatetorp, m. Jan 9, 1763, Väckelsång, Kirstin Nilsdotter. [I can find nothing connecting this guy. He was the only other one with a name close to Wickenberg in that area. I think this is why someone thought Magnus was the son of a Jonas. The Swedish Military archives told me Jonas got this as a soldiers name.] Väckelsång Book 1785-1804, Söftestorp. 1. Jonas Wickelberg, b. Aug 30, 1737, d. (July 1801?) 2. wife: Kjerstin Nilsdotter b. 1737 - d. 1787. 3. Son: Sven b. Oct 3, 1763. 4. Son: Johannes b. Nov 21, 1771. (Never found a Johannes or Sven Wickenberg/Wickelberg with these dates.) Some other clues. Do not know who these people and how they fit. 1. Volontairen: Johan Fr. Wickelberg m. 1810 Tingsås. Enkan: Helena Johansdotter, Wackelsang-Trottagard. 2. Volont. Drangen: Magnus Wickelberg, from Sutareslatt, married Jan 24, 1802, Väckelsång, Gertrud Svensdotter, from Wackelsangs-Makagd. 3. Johannes Wickelberg b. Sep 21,1811, Väckelsång, son of --- Wickelberg and Lena Johannesdtr, age 37. Anyway, this is where I'm stuck. Any ideas where and what to look for next/ Thank you much, Greg
