Hi All I am trying to help someone trace their Swedish ancestor who migrated to Australia. His birthplace was recorded as "Batocanes" on his naturalization certificate and as "Vadcarness" on his (English) seaman's discharge papers. I have been unable to find a good candidate for the correct placename. Would anyone with a better grasp of Swedish placenames be able to suggest any likely places ? Regards John Killip

Perhaps he can be found in a census or emigration list. // Bo Johansson
