Hi there, I am new to the list and to Swedish records, though I have been doing genealogy for several decades. In the last few days we finally made headway on the Swedish branch of our tree using the Pennsylvania death records to locate information about our ancestors Charles/Carl JOHNSON and Ida Josephine BRUTIUS. I am spelling the names as they appear on their death records, census records and other assorted documents. Both Charles/Carl JOHNSON and Ida Josephine BRUTIUS immigrated to the US from Sweden in the 1880s. Charles sometime between about 1880-1883 and Ida between about 1882-1886, depending on which record you reference. It was said that Ida immigrated with a sister who's name was possibly Lena and that the decision to immigrate came after their wealthy family was bankrupted, reportedly by their father's mishandling on money. It is said that she lived in a very large home with servants and that they had a private tutor. Since I am new to research in Sweden, I thought I'd first reach out to see if there might possibly be any others who are researching this line. Thanks in advance! Debbie Virginia USA

Hello, I have 8 photos of prison records of my Frans. I knew he was in prison, but not for what. I was sent these files, but no idea what they say. Not a lot of data, more like a simple report card style, but a few lines. I was hoping someone could give them a look over and let me know if they say anything interesting? Like why he is in. I hope they can be read, not sure if they can be enlarged. I was not sure the best way to show them, so I put them on FB. I rarely use FB so not sure how big they show to others.
