There are no people with surname Kandlin in Swedish Censuses 1880, 1890, or 1900. There are some people named Kandelin or Candelin, but they don't seem to fit your names. There is also in Census 1880 no August born 1878 living with a father named Ernst, or with a mother named Mar* Mo*. So I suspect some of your information is in error. But the plac-ename COULD perhaps be Bokenäs, a parish in Göteborgs and Bohus county. Or there are a number of villages named Backanäs, Bäckanäs, Björkenäs, etc. // Bo Johansson
