In my book for Holm parish it says "See Mellerud." > So I am assuming that the records were mixed and Holm absorbed Mellerud. There is no Mellerud parish, the town Mellerud was (and is) in Holm parish. Until 1927 Ör was the main parish of the "pastorat", with Holm, Dalskog, Skållerud, Gunnarsnäs, and Järn as annex parishes. The "pastorat" was divided 1927 and Holm became main parish in a "pastorat" with Skållerud and Järn as annex parishes, and Ör was main parish in a "pastorat" with Dalskog and Gunnarsnäs as annex parishes. Since 2013 there is a Mellerud "pastorat" consisting of Holm, Ör, Skållerud, and Bolstad parishes. Where since 2010 Ör contains also the former Dalskog and Gunnarsnäs parishes, and Bolstad contains also the former Erikstad and Grinstad parishes. And there is a Mellerud municipality, today containing the eight parishes (or former parishes) Bolstad, Dalskog, Erikstad, Grinstad, Gunnarsnäs, Holm, Järn, Skållerud, and Ör. http://www.gis.scb.se/atlas/RikIndAtlas1992/showimg.asp?imgnr=45 But both today and a century ago Mellerud was the only town of any size in these parishes.
