Thank you, Martin, for all the extra effort. I have found someone in Iowa with the same month and year of birth and the immigration date varied between 1868 and 1869. I do know that per relavent HFL he did move to Stockholm in 1869. Someone else researching the individual that I found here noted that he had brothers or cousins Enoch and August. The Johan Otto I found lived in Iowa and there is a Boone, Iowa. I found August and Enoch in one of the Great Lakes States. That Boone may be the key I need. For the most part, the entries on the CD are for smaller units, such as individual farms and villages, and there is no separate entry that I could find for Vena parish. I also did not see a place name Vimmerby under Vena parish, or for that matter a place name Vena under Vimmerby. The parish history pages at Skatteverket don't have any information indicating that Vena has been combined with another parish. Vena and Vimmerby are next to each other, so perhaps there is some confusion due to border changes between the two parishes? I have seen a case like this, where a farm (Åsjögle) was transferred from Mörlunda parish to Kristdala parish in the mid-1880s. Maybe if you post the details you have on your grandfather, he could be found on the PLF database.
