    3. Hej Carol - It is usually possible to deduce the correct spouse from entries on the Dödbok DVD. In this case, for example, Vilhelm is shown as a widower as of 10 January 1935. Searching for anyone with a last name of Andersson with a date of death 10 January 1935 brings up a list of possible matches. It is relatively easy to go through the list and see if anyone fits in terms of location at time of death. In this case, the following is probably Vilhelm's wife (she is the only female Andersson who died on that date and was registered in Örebro Nikolai): 18710715 Andersson f. Larsson, Hilda Oskarstorget 3 Död 10/1 1935. Kyrkobokförd i Örebro Nikolai, Örebro stad (Örebro län, Närke). Född 15/7 1871 i Norge. Änka (27/11 1897). 2. Thank you, Martin, for all the extra effort. I have found someone in Iowa with the same month and year of birth and the immigration date varied between 1868 and 1869. I do know that per relavent HFL he did move to Stockholm in 1869. Someone else researching the individual that I found here noted that he had brothers or cousins Enoch and August. The Johan Otto I found lived in Iowa and there is a Boone, Iowa. I found August and Enoch in one of the Great Lakes States. That Boone may be the key I need. 3. Yes the birth record goes across to other page. The names listed on that page are the Testes - witnesses or sponsors at the baptism. Reading across the columns: Birth number for the year Date of Birth Date of Baptism Sex of Child (1st one is for male and the 2nd is for female) a mark is made in one or ther other column Name of child Names of parents Place where parents were living and page number in Household Record when the birth occured Age of Mother Names of Testes (usually family members or close neighbors) Hope this helps you. Naomi in Illinois ---------------------------------------------- Cynthia E. Lawson wrote Tue, 9 Oct 2012 08:00:21 Thank you to Naomi, Martin & Mark. Of course seeing the actual record raises many questions. It also tells me the names of her siblings. Naomi, on the birth record does her record go across to the other page and if it does, since there are no column headers what is the information contained there, it looks like names. Martin, on the records you had for me, why are there 2 Flyttat columns and what do the numbers there mean? It looks like Sigrid's was 334 and 89 in one and 334 and 88 6/ in the other? Then what is the Finnskoga in the Flyttat column for Marit? Then in the second picture it looks like Marit (the mother) is not there, I think the first picture says she died in 88, and the sister Marit is not there, and it looks like the sister Kerstin has gone somewhere also. Mark, I will check out the on-line records as soon as I get back from vacation where my internet is being slow.

Vidare äro att nämna Qvillehults ångsåg och fem smärre sågar. Sn, som har 3 skolhus, utgör annex till stadsförslgn och använder dess kyrka. For the most part, the entries on the CD are for smaller units, such as individual farms and villages, and there is no separate entry that I could find for Vena parish. I also did not see a place name Vimmerby under Vena parish, or for that matter a place name Vena under Vimmerby. The parish history pages at Skatteverket don't have any information indicating that Vena has been combined with another parish. Vena and Vimmerby are next to each other, so perhaps there is some confusion due to border changes between the two parishes? I have seen a case like this, where a farm (Åsjögle) was transferred from Mörlunda parish to Kristdala parish in the mid-1880s. Maybe if you post the details you have on your grandfather, he could be found on the PLF database. 3. Tack Martin for the birth and census information for Rut Eriksson. I really appreciate your time in helping me. Naomi in Illinois -------------------------------- Martin wrote Tue, 9 Oct 2012 02:01:07 In the SCB birth record she is Rut Gudrun. Her parents are Nestor Engelbrekt Eriksson and Rut Valborg Löfdahl. I'll send the census records directly to you. Martin Naomi Swanson skrev 2012-10-08 22:49: > Hej Martin, > > I had found this Rut Ersson on birthday.se also. I am not sure this is my Rut as this one's name is Rut Gudrun. My Rut did not have Gudrun as part of her given name. Is it possible that the name Gudrun was added at a later date? Is it possible to do a 1970,1980, or 1990 census lookup for her? > > Naomi in Illinois >

Are they separate farms or villages? -- Drageryd was a village in H?gsby parish, consisting of 6 farms named Drageryd number 1 to number 6. In the HFL you can see that number 1 to 3 were of size 1 mantal, number 4 to 6 of size 1/2 mantal. These 6 farms were then further subdivided, so that in the H?gsby HFL 1861-1870, Drageryd number 2 was divided like this: - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 139 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 140 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 141 - a "torp" Hultem?la on page 142 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 143 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 144 - a "torp" B?ckhult on page 145 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 146 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 147 - a "torp" Petersberg on page 148 - one farm of 1/8 mantal on page 149 - a "torp" Gjutem?la on page 150 - a "torp" L?fdal on page 151 - a "torp" Nym?la on page 152 - a cottage(?) Dumpemon page 153 - a "torp" Stens? on page 150. The other farms in Drageryd village were similarly subdivided.
