    3. Hi List, Erik Ludvig Svensson died 23 Jul 1906 Ronneby Blekinge. The cause of death is listed as Magsar Aftyning. I think Magsar = Ulcer but what does Aftyning mean? I think both "Rites of Passage" and "Births and Baptisms" answer your question. http://web.comhem.se/~u31263678/genealogy/ Short answer - yes, Swedish mothers were not present at child's baptism due to "churching" or kryktagning.
