Nils Börjesson in Hälhult(?), 80 1/2 years old, as he was born 1697 the 21st February. His wife died the 11th Sep 1773, 83 years old, they(?) were married 1719 the 10th May, and lived together for 54 years, and begot only 2 children, one son and one daughter in Horsaryd(?). This Nils Börjesson had little to support the household with, but was so blessed later by trading and ???, that he had [the nickname?] in the parish: Rich Nils in Hällhult(?). He died with good sound reason, and had not during his time been ill until now, at the end somewhat in the legs(?). He was buried the 14th June. // Bo Johansson

Perhaps he was from Örebro, or perhaps the muster was held there? But he probably didn't get the name Öster until then. In the 1732 rolls, he is still called Anders Andersson Öster as soldier number 18.176.342, transfered 12 Oct 1727 to number 180.22. As number 22.180.352 he had replaced Pär Svensson Östfelt, and also taken over that soldier name and is now called Anders Andersson Östfelt. And he is recorded as 31 years old with 9 years service, so he should have joined the army in 1721(?). > > Since he was already married and only 24 years old in 1725, maybe I > can find his marriage record. I also found these children: Maybe this one with father Sold: A: A: Östen Knista C:1 (1725-1755) Image 8/ page 3 Dec. 6 - Kerstin Sold: And Östfelt Knista C:1 (1725-1755) Image 16/ page 11 May 4 - Karin, Sold: And Östfelt Knista C:1 (1725-1755) Image 28/ page 23 July 1 - Brita, Sold: Anders Östfelt Knista C:1 (1725-1755) Image 36/ page 31 May 14 - Marit, Sold: And: Östfelt I didn't find any children born after Maria, and of course, I don't know if the wife who died in 1766 was the mother of these children. Births in Knista weren't recorded until 1725 and marriages not until 1753. It looks like the mother was rarely recorded unless it was an illegitimate birth. 3. Thank you, Bo. Have you noticed that every time you answer one question, I have several more? :-) I found him in these earlier records, apparently replacing different soldiers. These look like they say basically the same thing. Generalmönsterrullor - Närke och Värmlands regemente 179 (1725-1725) Image 165 and Generalmönsterrullor - Närke och Värmlands regemente 180a (1725-1725) Image 173 There are two dates in this entry. If both pertain to Anders Anderson Östfält, maybe one is his enlistment date and the other when he replaced the previous soldier in this company? What is the list of names in brackets on the left? I looked up the number in this entry and it seems to pertain to the soldier that Anders replaced. This is the earliest soldier list he should appear on since the next one is 1721 and it looks like he joined in 1723. Since he was already married and only 24 years old in 1725, maybe I can find his marriage record. It narrows the date down. He probably had other children before Maria in 1739. I'm not sure I can read these records well enough to search for other children, but I may try. Thank you so much for giving me another path when I thought I had hit a dead end. He was replaced, perhaps October 1827 by Anders Anderson Östfält from number 176.18 I'm not sure if age 31 and 9 years service refers to Per Svensson or Anders Anderson Östfält, but it seems to fit with Anders. Does the note in the 1754 record say that he was discharged? 60 seems old to still be a soldier. I found Anders in AD Generalmönsterrullor - Närke och Värmlands regemente 184 (1744-1744) Image 102 / page 95. There is also something about him here in the last entry. This entry is different. What does it say? 3. Hi Lynda, More informaton would be helpful - names birth dates, place of birth, etc of children, which census? Anything else pertaining to them. And dates, if possible. He was born somewhere in Sweden in 1784 named Barai Manson. He went to England before or around 1820. He is shown on the census as living with Mathilda Anne Manson and Three children. Is there anyone who can help me I have tried looking at Swedish sites but am not very computer orientated.
