ArkivDigital Steneby C:4 (1774-1829) Image 122 / page 235 (AID: v10946.b122.s235, NAD: SE/GLA/13500): Married 1 Oct 1815, bachelor Olof Andersson in Korsbyn and maid Annicka Jansdotter in Taxviken. Notice that Lekåsa was the main parish of the Lekåsa, Essunga, Barne-Åsaka, Fåglum, and Kyrkås (Sandbäck) "pastorat", so his birthplace Lekåsa might be Lekåsa parish, or one of the other parishes of the "pastorat". 3. Thank you Pono, And thank you for the earlier link to the translation help page. I sometimes give up too easily and I must remember patience. I am learning that boomerang kids are not restricted to our times. This family certainly had kids coming and going and they were all together in a little stuga. 3. Dear Joy, It must be something that would possess a young man to travel all that distance, from friends and family to start a new life all by himself. Though I would think these days they would say he was ADD and medicate him. Yet thinking about it, back in the 1970s, when I was 17 I would hitchhike across U.S. and be back in time for school. Don't recommend it these days. My dad said I always had a restless spirit. Started going on hikes, on my own, since I was 4 years old. Boy, I use to get into such trouble. But I always found my way home. Now at 58 I have travelled all around the world and would like to travel more. My grandparents never left the States. Maybe I should have been medicated. Nah! Now back to my friend's Swedish heritage. What I would like to do for him is go back 3 generations, and see what he want to do after that. Hopefully, pay me my Mushroom Burger. But this is what I have thus far. Johannes OLAFSSON (s/o ?) born 13 Jul 1821 Lekasa, Skaraborgs, Sweden, married to Johanna SVENSDOTTER (d/o ?) 04 Oct 1825 Barne-Åsaka, Skaraborgs Sweden.
