Hello, I am looking for some information on the history of religion in Sweden. Specifically, I am looking for information on recognized and unrecognized nonconformist religions in Sweden and what that meant. I was listening to a webinar on Scandinavian genealogy and this came up. I think it may answer a couple of questions I have about one of my ancestors. I think she may have been a part of an unrecognized nonconformist religion. I have been unable to find a source to give me more information on this subject. Would anyone be able to point me to a source that could explain this to me? Thank you in advance for any information you can give me. Dusty

Wonder if the sub parish might be something like Grana Kjell. Very difficult to read, and Bo could be correct about Kapell. But I detect an s after the second word and think that it might mean sogn/socken. Have looked through lists of parishes for all of Norway's counties and the only names I see are Grane in Nordland (but it's a municipality) and Gran in Oppland. Both seem far from Tåsjö, but something to go on I guess. Would be nice to see a second record with these details. I think what it is saying is that he was born and baptised in Norway as you know, and it names the place (Sogn) and main parish (Prestegjeld). I don't recognise them, and it doesn't name the County. You might have those records already. Perhaps the next part is saying who he was baptised by on 7 Sep. A Swedish lister will recognise the words. -----Original Message----- From: sweden-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:sweden-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Elaine Kozakavich via Sent: 06 July 2015 10:14 To: sweden@rootsweb.com Subject: [SWEDEN] Translation help please - Tåsjö baptismal record Could someone please tell me what is written in the far right column for the baptism of Anders Daniel at ArkivDigital: Tåsjö C:3 (1861-1894) Image 800 / page 73. Thanks for those records Martin. You've uncovered a few more than I had found in the registers, but I don't think any (and there's one other on familysearch.com) are a match for the girl I'm looking for. Were all of the records from PFL CD #3? I believe there are 4 CDs in the set that covers all of Kalmar County. Just keen to know how far we have searched, and what else remains. I'm also working one by one through the parishes in ArkivDigital, but that will take some time. Thanks again Kevin

Hi List I have this Anna Catarina who on at least 4 separate occasions is found moving between Farstorp and Vinslöv parishes. In one of the certificates she states she was born in Calmar. I've not found a Calmar in Kristianstad County, so believe this refers to Kalmar County. She says she was born in 1774, but her ages (in certificates) suggest 1775. Is there sks on the List who has the PLF database for Kalmar county, and who could do a lookup for me please? I don't know the names of Anna's parents, though one assumes her father was Måns someone. In another of the certificates she indicates that her mother was the widow of Jöns Lind. He might have been her mother's second husband, or Anna Catarina might have been born out of wedlock. Jöns was married to a Lisbet/Lisebet/Elisabeth/Lisa Nilsdotter (also Forslund) but I have not found that marriage either. I have checked the various Kalmar registers on Arkivdigital and do not find Anna Catarina in the period 1773 to 1777 in them. I have checked: Kalmar stadsförsamling Kalmar landsförsamling Kalmar slottsförsamling parishes I'm grateful for any help. Many thanks Kevin (in NZ)

It is the former bricklayer Frans August Wickenberg who, at the request of the detective police in Stockholm and City prosecutor in Motala was arrested by the Public Prosecutor in Norrköping for committed bicycle thefts. During his questioning at the police station he behaved with utter brazenness and denied, just denied. In addition to six times theft he has also been punished for forgery. But if she was 18 1/2 years old in October 1793, she should have been born around April 1775, not 1774. Age 22 in 1797 would also make her born in 1775 rather than 1774. But some small errors in age were not unusual, so you should check both 1774 and 1775, or perhaps 1773-1776.
