Sweatt family moved from Ga. to Mississippi in mid 1840's. I am guessing that Sweatt family moved from NC or SC, possibly both into Ga and then into Ms. James Sweatt, as documented in an news article on one of his sons, was married to Malissa Sims (Simms) said in the article to be of Scots Irish stock. I believe that John Sweat is a son of younger bro to James or Nathan. James had 16 children, I descend from Julia who married a Raney in Ms and went west to Texas.
