Sweat/t--born about 1850 wifes name unknown--I have a land plat that shows him to have land in York County. Military records of 1861/62 shows him in 1st Company H 6 S.C. Infantry. Grandfather Robert Pinkney Sweatt lists Alfred H. Sweatt as his father on his death certificate. Grandfather Robert Pinkney Sweatt --born 10 Nov. 1861 died 20 Nov. 1927 in Mount Holly, N.C. My sister told me that we had some Indian blood but she would not tell me where that information came from, I do believe her story. I know that mother had some brothers and sisters. Thomas Alfred Sweatt -Born 09 April 1897 in Union County. The application for his SS lists Robert Pinkney and Maulcy Jane Belk as his mother and father. Hope some of this information will connect with your information. If so I would like to know anything that will help to connect this family. Doris
Doris, I've found some info on the Sweat's many of them great-uncles...I'm still putting all the info together. It came from some notes my mother had. (before the internet....lol) It's hard to find time, I'm working on several lines at once...Burel, Looper, Perkins, Priest, Strickland, Sweat and a couple of others.....I've got all but the Sweat's traced back to the early 1500's...I've also got some info on the Sweat's from a lady in Chicago that sent my mother a 2-inch stack of notes...we haven't tied them in yet. I keep and print all emails and compare them to things I find. If I find a match I'll let you and anyone else that has ever emailed me know. I have 3 filing cabinets of info all on paper plus one rolling cabinet that I keep under my desk....I think I've found a life long project...lol I may have to hire someone to help me sort this stuff...I have pictures, land documents, business documents, bible pages (copies), Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this stuff done quicker? lol. Any way, I'm working on all of it. Almost got through one stack and can file it away permantly. On to the next stack. Cynthia
