Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FdQBAEB/288.1.1.1.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: JESSE SWEAT married NANCY PARR, they were both from chesterfield, SC, they both had 4 children each from other marriages and then after they married they moved to south ga. in 1860, and had 5 more children together....and one of them was my greatgrandfather FERMAN SWEAT, I have heard different stories about this one goes like this::::::::My grandmother said "ferman was an orphan child and a full blooded cherokee indian" that he was taken in by the Sweat Family because his parents were killed..he was born in 1864 during the Civil War...when war was on..therefore people got killed and there the children were with no family or homes and the soldiers took kids like this home to live with them on the farm....but another story says alot of this is true but he loved his mother so much""his true mother""which shows on the census "i beleive" was Henreitta they called her "Hannie" that he wanted to be buried beside her when he died and he is, instead of being buried with his family---! wife and children...it is still unsolved but soon i hope to find out alot of answers...if you want i could send you copies via of e-mail of some names and census and affidavids,,,just let me know...christy
