Hi - my mama was a Sweat (and she's still around). Ware County, Georgia. Am interested in the headstone project. I know where an old branch is buried - in Pierce County, Ga. Four Acre Sweat and the whole bunch. I have many of them on tape but no pics. Am a descendant of the William/Nathan branch. Would like information about the project and would like to try to donate my branch. Grandaddy was Scotch/Irish. This could be great! Laura, Any help you can give us would be great. Basically I had planned to photograph some headstones in Atlanta and in Gwinnet County for Burels and Sweats. Also Dawsonville and Cumming for Perkins, Looper. Was hoping to go to Waycross Ga area for more Sweats. Figured I'd just take as many pics as possible and post them for all to use. There are also many civil war cemeteries around the Atlanta area that could be Saturday outings. If you would like to send me your tree, I can figure out how to work it in. We all have small pieces to one great big puzzle. If you'd like to volunteer to photograph some headstones that would be great. No one person can do it all. I had even thought of photographing some local cemeteries and maybe trading with others. Let me know if you're interested.
